Bruisyard Country Estate's Head Chef to entertain guests once again at the Suffolk Show Cookery Theatre

The Suffolk Show is all about celebrating everything that’s great about Suffolk, especially the county’s bounty of delicious seasonal produce. And this year our very own Head Chef will be in the Cookery Theatre again, demonstrating a delicious locally sourced dish whilst offering a few hints and tips to cook the perfect meal.

Gather some friends and family and come along to the first day of the event on Wednesday, 29th May, at 10.00am and experience a slice of Bruisyard’s exciting and exceptional cuisine.

Richard explains: “I will be creating a wonderful meal of lamb fillet, sweetbread and kidney, served with salt baked potatoes, asparagus, spinach, pickled onions and a stunning lamb sauce.  All ingredients have been raised, farmed or harvested from the area.”

Richard also promises to share expert tips with guests. “I want to demonstrate why I believe seasonal produce is the healthiest and tastiest way to eat. I’d like the guests to come away feeling informed and provide some inspiration and ideas to take away and try out for themselves.”

Why seasonal is great for Suffolk’s health

Richard is an advocate for using seasonal, local produce. “It’s important for so many reasons. You support the local economy, and our farmers, for one. But it’s great for your health too, as seasonal vegetables have more nutrients in them than mass produced alternatives. Eating seasonal means you’re getting the best and freshest produce available. It’s even great for your wallet, as the costs of travel and import taxes are reduced when buying local, seasonal produce. It’s the best way forwards for responsibly sourced, healthy and great tasting food”.

Bruisyard’s General Manager, Gareth Clarke, is delighted that Richard will once again be taking a little bit of Bruisyard’s luxury to the Suffolk Show. “Our food philosophy has always been to develop great tasting, seasonal menus using the best of British produce, ensuring our guests enjoy the finest local food available at the time.  Richard has great enthusiasm and flair for creating incredible menus for our wedding parties and celebration events. We can’t wait to see him turning some of Suffolk’s finest produce into a meal that will interest and entertain guests at the Suffolk Show.”
