Bruisyard Country Estate

VIRGINIA & ZUKIE

MARCH 2022

We chose Bruisyard because we loved it as soon as we saw it. It is such a relaxed, quiet and beautiful place. Together, the grounds, the surroundings, the house and the people who work there meant that for us, there was no comparison with other venues. I think we realised we wanted to get married there almost as soon as we arrived.

We both love the outdoors and countryside and Bruisyard is a country venue. But its appeal is much broader than that. It has the flexibility to allow you to design the whole day and make it your own, including the menu, which we created ourselves with help from the Bruisyard chefs. That enabled us to incorporate South African influences to reflect Zukie’s heritage.

The house and barns are also elegant in an informal and understated way. We loved that children and even dogs are made very welcome.

Having chosen Bruisyard as a venue, it more than lived up to our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - Ruth in particular deserves a special mention for her calm attentiveness and great support throughout the planning and on the day itself.

We had such a special day from start to finish. On the actual day it rained but we barely noticed and the venue looked as beautiful as always. Our guests had a great time, and the icing on the cake was the bar in the house which meant we had a little after party for close friends.

Breakfast the next day was served by the Bruisyard staff for those of us staying in the house. We had also had a catered dinner the night before the wedding, which meant we had three days of celebration with our closest friends and family.

We would not change a thing about our wedding and talk about hiring Bruisyard in the future to celebrate our anniversary- we would love to go back.   We would recommend it to everyone.
